Undercovering Community Assets, Needs and Opportunities
Two Ridings Community Foundation is seeking an experienced Social Researcher to deliver an exciting Vital Signs research project in partnership with the Bettys & Taylors Group. This work will investigate the strengths, challenges and future opportunities within communities across North Yorkshire, with a particular focus on areas located within 10 miles of a Bettys Tea Room in Harrogate, York, Northallerton and Ilkley.
We’re looking for someone who can combine rigorous analysis of official datasets with engaging, community-led research. You’ll bring together quantitative evidence and the experiences of people and organisations in the region to create a rich picture of community life, uncovering local strengths, identifying inequalities and spotlighting emerging needs and opportunities.
Your findings will equip funders, businesses and public sector partners with the insights they need to make informed decisions and target support where it can have the greatest impact. This is an opportunity to deliver research that drives action, influences investment decisions and helps shape stronger, more resilient communities in North Yorkshire for years to come.

Procurement process
Responses are invited between: Monday 10th August – Sunday 6th September 2026.
There will be opportunities for questions submitted by email to be answered between Monday 10th – Friday 14th August, and between Tuesday 1st September and Friday 4th September.
Deadline for responses is: 9am on Monday 7th September 2026.
All responses will be acknowledged and the successful bidder(s) will be informed by Thursday 17th September. If you have not heard from us by this date it means you have not been successful. If you would like feedback on your response please contact us after this date.
We anticipate contract(s) will commence on Monday 28th September 2026, and we expect the main report to be completed by Monday 28th November 2026.
