North Yorkshire Coast Fund
The North Yorkshire Coast Fund has been developed for the wellbeing of people and communities in the former borough of Scarborough. Within this, we give priority to work with children and young people to thrive and to help promote good mental health.
Priorities
Your project should do at least one of the following
- Increase and/or improve mental health and wellbeing provision for young people
- Empower and enable young people to take an active role in the designing and delivery of activities in their communities
- Enable people to build social interaction / have conversations about challenging topics
- Encourage community cohesion, celebration and integration activities
- Support community activities that bring people and neighbourhoods together to address key issues identified by the community

Size of grants
You can apply for between £500 and £5000.
You can apply for direct project costs. We are also committed to the principle of full cost recovery to ensure that groups are supported with ongoing sustainability.
Who can apply?
Your organisation must:-
- Be either a small voluntary organisation, community group, small charity or other type of not-for-profit organisation provided that the purpose of the grant is wholly charitable (please see our FAQs for additional requirements for CIC’s and CBS’s)
- Have a governing document (also known as a constitution, rules, memorandum, or articles of association) in the name of their organisation outlining charitable objectives and with a charitable dissolution clause
- Have a bank account in your group/ organisation’s name with at least two signatories, who are not related to one another
- Produce annual accounts

How to apply?
Firstly, please read the North Yorkshire Coast Fund Guidance 2025 carefully before applying. This will give you information about the fund and the priorities. So it will help you decide if your project meets the criteria. We have updated them since last year. So even if you have applied before, you will need to read them again.

Next, attach your supporting documents to your application. Alternatively, you can email them to the office. Finally, your application is only complete when we have received all your supporting documents.

When to apply?
The fund is now open for applications. The deadline is the Wednesday 12th November 2025 at 12pm.
We shall hold a decision making panel in mid December. You will hear from us with an outcome by mid January.
