Two Ridings and The Randal Foundation unite to tackle poverty and inequality in Hull

Collage of people in the community in Hull

Hull is a city with grit, heart and resilience. It’s a place where neighbours still look out for one another, where community groups spring up to fill gaps, and where people turn shared struggle into shared strength. But it’s also a city that faces some of the toughest challenges in England, from high levels of poverty and unemployment to educational disadvantage.

That’s why Two Ridings Community Foundation is proud to announce a new partnership with The Randal Foundation, bringing fresh funding to the grassroots groups working every day to make Hull a fairer, healthier, and more hopeful place to live.

The Randal Foundation is dedicated to championing bold, forward-thinking projects that create meaningful, life-saving, and life-enhancing change in communities across the UK and globally.  Together, we’re launching The Randal Foundation Fund, offering grants of up to £3,000 to community groups with annual incomes under £50,000.

Funding will focus on three key areas:

  • Lifting people out of poverty
  • Supporting mental wellbeing
  • Expanding educational opportunity

These small, flexible grants are designed for the groups closest to the ground. The local groups that know their neighbours, understand their community’s strengths, and act quickly to help hope take root and significantly improve lives.

As grants are awarded, we’ll share stories from the people and projects driving change. Each one shows what’s possible when local passion meets targeted funding.
