Nidderdale Plus Community Fund

Nidderdale Plus community fund logoThe Nidderdale Plus Community Fund provides a sustainable source of funding for local charitable activity in Nidderdale and the surrounding area.

Nidderdale Plus established the fund, and are donating income from their charity shop in Pateley Bridge to benefit local people and communities.

The priorities of the fund will be reviewed by round, in line with local needs. For this round, applications are welcome from organisations who are:

  • Improving community wellbeing and social inclusion
  • Fostering independence
  • Cultivating a sense of belonging
  • Community energy needs
  • Improving community spaces and facilities for local residents.

So local community groups can apply to:

  • run activities and services
  • cover essential running costs such as utilities, rent, core staff etc.
  • cover the costs of small capital schemes.

We will give priority to applicants that:

  • can evidence demand
  • are working with people who need extra support to stay independent and well.

The Nidderdale Plus Community Fund is keen to support community inspired and led projects, activities and events that show how a small investment can make a big difference to the local community. They are also committed to the principle of full cost recovery. So, do include a proportion of your essential costs in your application budget.

What area does The Nidderdale Plus Community Fund cover?

Size of grants

You can apply for a grant of between £200 and £2,000.

Grants can fund 100% of the activity costs or can be part of a combination of funding to meet the full amount needed. It is unlikely that we can give priority to projects where the grant award would represent less than 20% of the total project cost.

Who can apply?

Before applying, please read our How to Apply page for information on general eligibility.

The fund aims to provide a sustainable source of funding for charitable activity in Nidderdale and the surrounding area.  So we target grants at small organisations with charitable aims where a small amount of money can make a significant difference.

What sort of groups can apply?

  • small voluntary and community groups
  • small charities
  • other types of not-for-profit organisations

For this fund, we consider a small organisation to have an income of under £200,000.
