Dr Franklin Onukwugha
Trustee
Franklin is a Senior Lecturer, Influential Community Leader, and Global Youth Development Expert, who is passionate about building an inclusive society and helping young people reach their full potential.
This vision led him to founding Youth Aspire Connect, an award-winning charity that empowers young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to excel in life and contribute positively to society.
With a PhD in Social Policy from the University of Hull and a rich background spanning academia, community development, and charity leadership, Franklin hopes to bring strategic insights, deep grassroots connections, and a lived understanding of the challenges facing marginalised communities to help inform Two Ridings’ inclusive grant-making to transform lives and strengthen communities.
Franklin believes that we see further by standing on the shoulders of giants. He presents himself as one of the giants that any young person can stand on to see further and get further in life.
Franklin lives in Hull with his family, and his outstanding work has gained national recognition, including an invitation to attend the Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace, hosted by His Majesty King Charles III.
