Join us for a fun Barn Dance fundraiser on 6th February!
In February, We’re throwing a bit of a party— and you’re invited! On Friday 6th February, at 7pm, we’re taking over the De Grey Rooms in York for an evening packed with music, dancing, great food, and plenty of fun, all to raise money for the Two Ridings 25th Anniversary Appeal.
A big celebration with a big band
Our musical guests for the night are the band Big Deal — a foot-stomping, yee-haa-ing, thigh-slapping barn dance band who are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year. Even better, former band members are travelling from across the UK, America, and even New Zealand to join in. It’s going to be a reunion to remember!
Get ready to dance
Caller Jo will be guiding everyone through the barn dance steps — no experience needed and no pressure. If you can laugh and move your feet, you’ll fit right in. Expect to be dancing from the moment the music starts… at least until you need to catch your breath.
Delicious food & plenty of extras
Your £30 ticket includes a fantastic buffet created by local favourites Partisan and Brancusi. There’ll also be a bar, an exciting raffle, and music from a whole mix of talented musicians throughout the night. Think Gaelic, American, Cajun… and maybe even a special Two Ridings song or two.
Dress casual, dress down, go full gingham — whatever feels fun.
Why we’re dancing
We’re aiming to raise £10,000 on the night as part of our journey to reach £250,000 for our 25th Anniversary Appeal. Every penny from ticket sales, the bar, and the raffle will be match funded, doubling your impact.
Can’t make it?
You can still support the fundraiser by donating to our 25th Anniversary Appeal — and your donation will also be match funded. If you’re a UK taxpayer, don’t forget to add Gift Aid, which boosts your gift by an extra 25% at no extra cost.
And of course, there’ll be raffle tickets available to buy on the night with some brilliant prizes up for grabs, including a year’s supply of Yorkshire Tea!
