Donate to the Winter Resilience Fund

Even though winter is still months away, preparing early is one of the most powerful ways we can strengthen and protect our communities.

Through our conversations with the community organisations we support, we’re already hearing about families in Yorkshire who worry about what the colder months will bring. Some know they will face difficult choices later in the year – but they also know they won’t face them alone. Our region has a remarkable spirit of resilience, and people consistently come together when it matters most.

Community organisations across North and East Yorkshire, York and Hull are already planning ahead to ensure support is ready when people need it. These groups become the warm spaces, crucial food hubs, advice centres, and the often the only opportunity to socialise for many people. They become a second home where people feel connected and cared for during the winter months.

But these organisations need stability too.

Rising energy costs have already sadly pushed some groups to close. Many more are operating under immense pressure. Preparing early gives them the best chance to keep their doors open, stay strong, and continue being lifelines for people.

Our Winter Resilience Fund gives everyone the opportunity to be part of that preparation. Every donation — whatever you can afford — helps build the foundations of support that will carry people through the winter months.

All donations will be awarded as small grants with trusted local community groups who have a proven track record of helping people through challenging times. By acting now, we can ensure that when winter arrives, our communities are ready and supported.
